I am nearing the end of the first draft of my new book The Joke That We Play On The World, which will be released exclusively through my web store winter, 2010.
The Joke That We Play On The World is my first venture into the world of non-fiction and is an autobiography of sorts, but more so a series of rants that make up an in-depth retelling of my often unbelievable story with the band Showbread. Never have I laughed out loud so often while writing. Much of it I have a hard time believing myself. If you happened to catch any of last year’s book reading/acoustic tour dates, you might remember something i read about relative madness and being in Showbread… This short story carries much of the same spirit of the book.
Though this book houses some bizarre real life memories, it’s strung together with what will hopefully prove to be some theological insight I’ve come across in my time with the strange traveling circus ministry of Showbread, as an author, a musician, a human, and a dummy. It’s a strange, hilarious and insightful read with lots of neat pictures.
More updates and previews of The Joke That We Play On The World will be on the way here on the site as we go along.
